Sun City 50th Anniversary 9-Hole Golf Tournament and Parade Watching Event
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary Parade, Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. will host a special 9-hole golf tournament at Riverview Golf Course before the parade on Saturday March 13. Any and all golfers (cardholders, guests, public) are invited to participate in this fun 9-hole event.
Date: March 13, 2010 Signup Deadline: March 10
Time: 7:30am shotgun (registration: 6:45am)
- Men will play the back 9 (separate tournament from the women)
- Women will play the front 9 (separate tournament from the men)
Format: Individual Stroke Play.
- Flights: will be based on handicap and separated by gender
- 30% of handicap will be used
- Substitute par will be used: Each player has the ability to substitute par as their score for one hole. (Example: I make an 8 on a par 4. I have the ability to substitute the par score of 4 for my score of 8) – This can only be used once.
Cost: $6 entry fee to be turned into any RCSC pro-shop with entry form by March 10, plus 9-hole green fees to be paid at course on the day of play. (Includes prizes, range balls, gift certificates and snacks). Entry form available at all RCSC pro shops and online at www.sunaz.com/golf.
Putting Contest: Immediately following the event, a putting contest will be held. Each player that entered the tournament will receive two putts with the closest to the hole determining the winner. If we have a tie and two people make the putt, a putt-off will determine the winner. Two Ashdon putters will be given out to the winners of the contest, with one going to the men’s winner and one to the ladies’ winner.
