Be cautious of callers claiming to be with RCSC

Sun City residents should use caution if they receive phone calls from people claiming to work for Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc. looking to collect on past due payments or obtain any information. Recently, RCSC received a complaint from a cardholder who received a phone call from someone wanting to discuss a past due account with RCSC and asked for personal financial information. This phone call did not come from anyone associated with RCSC.

At times, RCSC employees do call cardholders to discuss their accounts, and it seems there are individuals looking to take advantage of unsuspecting Sun City residents. If cardholders receive a call from someone saying they work for RCSC, we want to make sure those cardholders are absolutely certain they are speaking with a legitimate RCSC employee. To help our cardholders keep from getting scammed, we encourage them to follow these steps if they receive a phone call from someone with RCSC:

1. Ask the caller’s name and department
2. Hang up and call RCSC’s Corporate Office at 623-561-4600
3. Ask to speak with the caller

If the caller refuses to provide their name and department or becomes defensive or overly aggressive, they are definitely not with RCSC.

Our intent is not to scare the Sun City community, but rather inform everyone of a potential scam. If cardholders have concerns or questions, contact RCSC directly at 623-561-4600.
