Golf and Grounds Report
February 2010
by John Snyder
The South Golf Course front 9 groundwater well has been pulled for repairs. The well has been videotaped and only some minor issues were reported. The contractor will be cleaning the inside casing to open clogged holes this week. The motor and pump are currently being inspected for repairs. Costs of repairs are estimated at $52,000.
The South Golf Course master plan has been completed. The plan has been submitted to the green committee and the Board of Directors. The next phase of the project is to complete construction drawings and go out to bid. The bidding process will be completed by the end of March. There were four goals set forward for the master plan:
- All work is to be done strategically, everything must have an exact purpose
- Everything must be accessible by the senior golfer, no steep slopes or berms
- Everything must be maintainable on RCSC budgets and
- Water conservation must be considered.
The master plan for South Golf Course can be reviewed at the South Golf Course pro shop.
