Oakmont Center

Pool-side emergency equipment shut off switch was installed at Oakmont Center. Contractor was Supercharged Electric. (Cost - $1,238)

Fairway Center & North/ South/Quail Run Pro Shops

Club moves continue to wind down at Fairway with only the ceramics club remaining. The RCSC architect recently received from Maricopa County Building and Planning, the first round of comments on the Fairway Phase 2 building plans. Once corrections to the plans are made the plans will be re-submitted to Maricopa County for another review. Demolition of the remaining old Fairway Center buildings is still scheduled for July 2010.

Lakeview / Lakeview Lanes / Viewpoint Lake

The waterfall pump at the Lakeview hillside park was recently removed and sent in for repair. Contractor is GMI PumpsĀ (Estimated Cost - $3,500)

Bell Center / Bell Lanes

Some foam insulation work on the ducting at Bell Lanes was recently completed. Contractor was Trades Unlimited. (Cost - $4,300)

The new Dust Collection System at the Bell wood shop is still in the permit process with Maricopa County Planning and Development Department. Since this project requires a building for the dust collection equipment and an electrical interlock upgrade to ensure no stationary tools can be operated without the dust collector running, it was awarded to three contractors. Bel-Aire Mechanical for the dust collection unit & associated air ducting, Ken McIntyre Construction for the equipment building, and Accel Electric for the electrical interlock and general wiring work. (Project Cost - $132,830 )

The new Bell sign is still in the permit process with the Maricopa County Building and Planning Department. Contractor is Apollo Sign Company. (Cost - $16,101)

Sundial Center

Two replacement aquatic wheel chairs were purchased for the Sundial pools. The two new 22-inch aquatic wheelchairs replace two worn out 18-inch units. (Cost - $3,240)

Skilled Trades Department

The Skilled Trades department completed 113 work orders during the month of January 2010. Total number of work orders completed by the RCSC Skilled Trades department in 2009 was 1,306. (This does not include other work they do like parking lot sweeping, trash hauling, fitness equipment repairs, South restrooms remodeling, and construction of club room cabinets at Fairway Center.)

General Centers Information

Automatic swimming pool sweeping equipment has now been deployed at the Bell, Oakmont, Mountain View, Lakeview, Sundial and Marinette swimming pools. The new equipment will allow existing utility workers more time to clean pool area, and soon to install and retract pool covers, while the pool interiors are swept by the new equipment. (Cost per Unit - $2,100)
